Italy: Chinese police join Milan’s Carabinieri to assist Chinese tourists

Chinese police officers were deployed to Milan city centre to help their Italian counterparts in dealing with tourists from their home country.

For two weeks Chinese police officers will be supporting Milanese and Roman police with their work. The trial is aimed at making tourists from China feel safer in and around attractions, according to Italian Interior Minister Angelino Alfano.

SOT, Sa Yiming, Chinese police officer (Italian): "We are here to protect Chinese tourists during these weeks. Moreover we are helping the Carabinieri and Italian Police as translators".
